Hello and welcome to my December blog
Here at Harrogate Hospital Radio we are a self funding organisation that need to raise approximately £3,000 per year to keep the service we provide to patients, staff and visitors via our online and our APP.
Our team of approximately 40 members all take part in fundraising events to help raise the funds, however there are other ways we fundraiser, such as companies can sponsor a show on Harrogate Hospital Radio, if you are reading this then please do get in touch via our website or email me direct at chairmanhhr@gmail.com
I will gladly send details of how you can do this.
A team of volunteers have been busy recently in the reception selling our Christmas raffle tickets, Thank you to the team and of course everyone who purchased a ticket. Remember the star prize is £150.00.
The draw will take place on Saturday December 7th during my Saturday morning music zone’. I will be joined by Steve Russell who will be doing the draw. Steve is the chief executive of Harrogate District Hospital.
Other ways we raise funds. Organisations such as the Masons have been very helpful to us in the past by giving us a grant to enable HHR to maintain and purchase WiFi radios got use throughout the hospital and this is an ongoing task and will carry on into 2020.
Recently HHR received a grant from The Grants Team at the Two Ridings Community Foundation, this grant was so much appreciated as we needed to upgrade our computer software enable HHR to carry on broadcasting for at least more 3 years before we assess the computer software for the future once again.
You too can help by playing the local lotto, everyone who registers to play can nominate a local charity, so we would be eternally grateful if you nominate Harrogate Hospital Radio. So far this year we have received over £300 which is fabulous. Thank you to those who support the local lotto and Harrogate Hospital Radio this way.
Now, as December is the season of good will, if you know of any companies or organisations that may be happy to help maintain the service we provide at HHR then please do get in touch.
May I take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones season’s greetings from all the team at Harrogate Hospital Radio.
Get well soon, I hope you are out of hospital, home safe and well this Christmas.
Best wishes
Mark Oldfield
Chairman, HHR
