Hello, and welcome to my June blog.

I really hope you have been taking advantage of the lovey spring weather we have been having and not spending too much time in hospital.

June is the start of our outside broadcasting season and this month Harrogate Hospital Radio will be out and about at two events – “bringing the outside in”!

On Saturday June 9th we will be broadcasting live from the Knaresborough Bed Race, bringing you all the action live from 10am and throughout the whole event, ready for the race live at 3pm.

Sunday June 17th we will be live from the Valley Gardens for the eighth annual 1940’s Day. This event will feature stalls selling vintage clothing, as well as wartime military vehicles. Additionally there will be representatives from the Royal Air Force and the Army, plus a fine selection of vintage cars.

Harrogate Hospital Radio is proud to be bringing both events live to your bedside. We are also live online and via our brand new app so your friends and family can listen too.

Preparations are in full swing for the NHS 70 celebrations. Harrogate Hospital Radio will be involved in various roles but more about this in the near future.

On July 3rd, Harrogate District Hospital will be holding a “celebration of volunteering”‘ in Herriot’s Restaurant, where long service awards will be presented. I am sure some Harrogate Hospital Radio volunteers are up for an award, but more of that in my July blog.
