Harrogate Hospital Radio is celebrating success at this year’s National Hospital Radio Awards.
The charity radio station, which last year celebrated its 40th anniversary, was shortlisted in five categories and saw presenters Steve Pexton and Ann Kilroy claiming bronze for Best Show with Multiple Presenters.
Jonathan Tullet achieved a top five position for Best Newcomer, Ellie Jackson gained a top five position for Best Female Presenter, whilst Mark Field was in the top ten for Best Male Presenter and the station itself was also in the top ten for Station of the Year.
Harrogate Hospital Radio Chairman Mark Oldfield said: “To be even shortlisted for five awards was a fantastic achievement, so for Steve and Ann to come away with a bronze award was the icing on the cake!
“It was a fantastic evening, celebrating the best of hospital radio across the country. Being placed top ten in each nomination just shows the quality of our presenters and the standard we maintain as a radio team.
“I’m incredibly proud of how far we have come in 40 years. Our presenters work extremely hard to create the best shows possible for the patients and visitors at Harrogate District Hospital.
“We have superb facilities, a dedicated team of volunteers, and we are now broadcasting more live shows than ever before, including increasing outside broadcasts.
“I am one very proud Chairman. Once again, huge congratulations to Steve and Ann on their bronze award.”
